Organizational whiz, search and rescue professional, and former arborist Chris Berquist is the glue that holds the team together. Not only does he have a really nice beard, his calm demeanor, tactical mind, background in S&R and innumerable outdoor pursuits provide Chris the knowledge and experience to lead our on-the-ground search efforts.

When not repelling down waterfalls and hiking through jungles during rescue missions, Elena is is still doing pretty much those same things as a master repeller and adventure guide on Maui. She brings significant outdoor experience to the STAT team.

Marketing professional, ultra-marathon runner, spin instructor and avid outdoorswoman Katie Miller developed a passion for our mission during the search on Maui for her best friend, Amanda. Inspired by happy endings such as these, and with a love of adventure, Katie brings an unrelenting optimism to our team.

Electrical engineer and our Jack-of-all trades, Jeff Miller, brings technical expertise, surgical discipline and outdoor experience to the team. Between rescue missions you can find Jeff hiking with Mrs. Miller and their two four-legged girls, Cookie and Cotton.

John has a background in the Navy, a degree in electrical engineering, and is the founder of InSight Mobile Data. As an expert in GPS technology, he brings a wealth of technical knowledge in addition to substantial strategic and management experience to the team.

Chris puts the tech in Search Tech Advisory Team. Engineer, GPS expert and overall technical whiz, he is responsible for helping our team implement technology in the most efficient and effective way to assist in our search missions.

Amanda is an entrepreneur and outdoor enthusiast. In 2013, she co-founded a software business focused on harnessing location tracking technology for mobile worker applications. Inspired to action during the search for her close friend, she brings technology and business operational experience to the STAT Board.
